Restore a Power BI item

1. In your connector, find the item you wish to restore.
2. Optional: If you want to restore a record from an earlier point in time, select the Snapshots Viewer. Then select the appropriate snapshot.
3. Point to the item and click Restore.
4. Click Yes to restore the item.

Note: To restore multiple items at a time, select the items. In the toolbar, select Restore.

What is restored

• Restoring a workspace restores the permissions of the workspace.
• Restoring a report restores the dataset. 

Reports with other reports as data sources

 If a new report uses another report as its data source, the new report’s data will not be backed up. To restore such a report, you must first restore the original report used as the dataset, then manually add the dataset to the new report before republishing it.

Limitations

Due to limitations in the Power BI API, we are unable to restore items in-place. Instead, reports and dataflows are restored as duplicates.
