Keepit product updates
What's new in the Keepit Platform
10.1.1 - What's New in the Keepit Platform
Reduced permissions for connector authentication and restore actions
We've minimized the permissions required for creating and authenticating Microsoft 365 connectors, now limiting them to the least privileged built-in role: Privileged Role Administrator.
Additionally, restore actions that previously required Global Administrator rights—such as SharePoint site external settings, site quota settings, and communication site restores—will now use application permissions. This means you no longer need to use highly privileged accounts for these actions, enhancing security and simplifying access management.
10.0.0 - What's New in the Keepit Platform
Introducing the Data Protection Dashboard
We're excited to introduce the new Data Protection Dashboard, designed to give users a comprehensive and intuitive overview of backup status and essential metrics, such as health, coverage, and restore statistics for all connectors.
This workload-based dashboard provides near real-time insights, displaying aggregated values for backup status and coverage, with the flexibility to drill down into specific connectors for more detailed information.
With this enhanced observability, users can quickly identify and address potential issues before they escalate, improving productivity and reducing the risk of errors.
Entra ID connector expands backup capabilities
The Entra ID connector has been enhanced to support the backup of Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS). Additionally, it now backs up account protection policies, including local user group memberships and Windows LAPS configurations.
To enable backup support for Windows LAPS, we require an additional permission: Read device local credential passwords. You can grant this permission by reauthenticating your connector through its backup configuration.
Please note that reauthentication is necessary before you can enable the new supported data areas in your backup configuration.
LAPS backup functionality is available exclusively for Advanced Entra ID connectors. However, all customers, including those using Standard Entra ID connectors, will still be prompted to reauthenticate.
Enhanced Entra ID bulk restore for greater efficiency
We’ve introduced significant enhancements to the Entra ID restore process to make it faster and more efficient. With this update, you can now perform bulk restores for more Entra ID objects, helping you save time and maintain data relationships seamlessly.
In addition to the recent bulk restore capabilities for users and groups, you can now restore all administrative units, roles, service principals, app registrations, and policies in one go. This comprehensive approach streamlines the recovery of your Entra ID environment, ensuring a more efficient and cohesive restoration process.

Add comment to restore job
Enhance documentation and auditing by using the new comment field when initiating a restore job. This feature allows you to document the reasons for restore actions and include ticket references. For easy tracking, comments are visible in restore reports and in a new column in the Job Monitor. If the column isn't visible, you may need to add it to your table view.
Optimized search experience
Refine your search with precision by selecting the specific data area and using double quotes for exact matches.
For Microsoft 365 connectors, leverage the new integrated contextual filters to gain better control and ensure more accurate results. Whether conducting broad or narrow searches, use predefined filters, open text fields, and common search patterns to fine-tune your queries within the connector.
Enhanced data security for restore operations
We've strengthened data security by adding additional security controls governing who can restore data and the locations they can restore to. This enhancement improves data management for large-scale customers.

Please note, if you currently back up Teams Chats either in a dedicated connector or in a connector with other data areas, the backup of Teams Chats data will be paused until the app registration is created and the connector is reauthenticated. 6.2.2 - What's New in the PMC
Quickly access customer accounts with multi-account management
Keepit Managed Service Provider (MSP) partners can now manage multiple accounts in the Partner Management Console (PMC) more efficiently. Using our new dedicated MSP Partner user role, you can now sign in to customer accounts directly through the PMC using your MSP account credentials. With the quick access, you can troubleshoot customer issues, approve TOS on behalf of your customers, and audit user activity across customers.
6.1.0 - What's New in the PMC
Improvements to SSO in PMC
Single Sign-On (SSO) is now available for partner accounts in the new Partner Management Console (PMC). When enabling a configuration, the partner has the option to enable SSO just for their account or also for all subaccounts. The partner also has the option to make SSO mandatory, requiring users to log in with SSO by disabling the option to use PMC credentials.
5.3.0 - What's New in the PMC
Introducing the Partner Management Console (PMC)
We now have a new user interface available for our partners. On top of the existing functionalities you love, you will be able to:
- See all your customers in a single pane of glass
- Instantly identify needed troubleshooting
- Quickly understand your customers’ backup status
At the same time we have also added multi-factor authentication support to the PMC. MFA can be enabled for the partner account and all its subusers - but not for partner or customer subaccounts.
